Want to Acquire More Customers by Launching an Affiliate Program?

With my help, it’s not as complicated or as costly as you think

If you’re seriously considering affiliate marketing as a vehicle for driving more high quality leads and sales to your company, you’re one smart cookie.

That’s because a thriving affiliate program has the potential to generate higher sales than the majority of marketing initiatives your company is focused on right now.

The problem is you want to explore this uncharted opportunity in a very lean way, but between the high priced agency quotes and in-house resource estimates, it seems like a complicated and costly mess.

I know this because many years ago, I was in exactly the same situation as you are now. At the time, I had been involved with affiliate marketing as an affiliate, and just knew an affiliate program could drive exceptional growth for my company. Although I had a deep understanding of the industry, I had never launched an affiliate program before so I decided to enlist the help of an “expert agency” to help us through the process of setting up our program.

Here’s what I found out later: setting up an affiliate program is easy.

What’s not easy is coming up with an incredible commission structure that will entice high quality affiliates to join and promote your company. Or automating and systematizing all the tedious tasks involved with managing an affiliate program. Or knowing which activation activities will produce better results than others.

Although the agency tried to help me in those areas, everything they did fell flat. I tried consulting with other agencies too – those with even bigger price tags – and time and time again I was let down by their huge promises.

Want to hear something crazy? Today, that affiliate program has generated millions of dollars in revenue and is a top customer acquisition source, all thanks to our treasured affiliates.

How’d we get there? By changing my management approach from outsourced to in-house, I was able to experiment with different strategies and tactics to discover which activities yielded the best results.

Though I wish I had the help of an affiliate mentor to guide me along the way, doing things the hard way gave me enough education and experience to eventually become a mentor to others – like you – launching and growing their own affiliate programs.

Suffice to say, I know how you feel right now.

  • You’re not sure which tracking platform is best for your company’s program
  • You’re worried about how much time you’ll need to run the program post-launch
  • You’re wondering where to find the best affiliates and how long it will take to see results

Let me say it again, it’s not as complicated or as costly as you think.

With my help, you’ll:

  • Get your affiliate program launched on a pro network so you don’t have to rely heavily on internal resources
  • Prove your affiliate program can drive scalable, affordable results within 9 months of launching
  • Afford to hire an in-house employee or VA to manage your growing program by the end of our engagement
  • Deepen your affiliate marketing knowledge so you can confidently steer the program to huge success

Think this sounds great, but not sure it will work for you?

I totally get it. Maybe you thought the only way to launch and scale an affiliate program was with the help of an agency. Or because you don’t know enough about affiliate marketing, perhaps you have doubts you can tackle this in a non-traditional way.

Truth bomb: you can do this.

You’ve seen affiliate programs drive customers for similar companies. With the right strategy and mentor, you too can successfully launch and scale an affiliate program in-house.

Justine Grey Affiliate Marketing Strategist

I’ve helped companies like FreshBooks and Shopify acquire customers through their affiliate programs – I’d love to work with you to do the same.

Although I have nearly a decade of affiliate industry experience, I decided to make affiliate based acquisition my life’s work over 5 years ago. In that time I’ve helped countless companies, specifically in the digital product and software space, drive revenue and customers through their affiliate programs.

While I have the utmost respect for my peers in the industry, I strongly believe that an affiliate program should be managed in-house by you or your team. That’s because it’s the most affordable option, the program will grow faster and it’s best for the brand.

Unfortunately most affiliate agencies will tell you otherwise. They’ll tell you how complicated affiliate marketing is and convince you to pay them a high priced monthly so they can handle all the work for you. All you have to do is sit back and watch the results roll in.

The reality is these agencies are juggling lots of clients and the prices they charge don’t reflect the hours they’ll be putting in to grow your program. After all their internal meetings, there’s barely any time left to work on revenue generating activities for your program.

On top of that, they share very little of what they’re doing (probably because they’re not doing much) so as an entrepreneurial marketer, you get very little learning out of the experience.

You don’t want a mediocre affiliate program

Excellence is important to you. You want to drive meaning results for your company, while nurturing the customer base and brand you’ve worked hard to grow.

And if you can do that while deepening your knowledge of a new industry, all the better because learning is your middle name.

That’s why I decided to develop this service.

With it’s combination of done-for-you services coupled with transparent training, you’ll gain a thriving affiliate program – run in-house by employee(s) who know your brand best – within 9 months of working together.

And when it comes to learning, get ready for some serious affiliate education because unlike others in my industry who hoard their tips, I’ll gladly share everything I know with you and then some. After all, the faster I help you prove the affiliate program as a successful test worth running in-house long-term, the faster you’ll recommend me to all your business friends (right?!).

PAUL JARVISI don’t say this often or lightly, but Justine absolutely knows her shit when it comes to setting up successful affiliate programs.

FAQs

Why won’t you manage my affiliate program forever – other freelancers and agencies do it?
While I have the utmost respect for my peers in the industry, I strongly believe that an affiliate program (especially in the software and digital product space) should be managed in-house by you or your team. Here’s why:

  • It’s the most affordable option – Spending thousands per month on program management retainers is not necessary. A junior employee or VA is extremely capable of managing and scaling an affiliate program with the right training and support.
  • The program will grow faster – You can certainly grow an affiliate program by completing a set list of monthly tasks – but that approach takes time. To scale faster, you need to test new ideas and interesting initiatives regularly. An in-house employee has the ability to get those ideas outlined, approved, and launched much faster because they understand your brand guidelines and approval protocols. On that note…
  • It’s best for the brand – Since your employee / VA will have a deep understanding of your brand, they’ll be able to communicate and engage with affiliates more effectively. Plus, your people will always have your company’s best interests in mind – whereas some outsourced program managers (OPMs) and affiliate agencies sadly only have their best interests in mind.

How is your monthly management service different from all the reputable agencies out there?
While our monthly retainer may seem similar to agencies out there, our goals and approach couldn’t be more different.

When you retain us for this service, our sole mission is to prove to your company that an affiliate program is a scalable source of high quality customers. We do that by focusing on results oriented activities and nothing else. You won’t find us wasting precious time preparing fancy reports or jumping on twice weekly calls with you – if you want that, definitely hire an agency. Instead, we’ll be heads-down making things happen so that within 9 months, we can transition your program management in-house to explode your growth long-term.

Can you give me an idea of the schedule involved with this monthly service?
Absolutely!

  • In month one, we’ll focus on your launch positioning and program setup. While we do that, you’ll work with a few internal team members to implement program tracking on your site or in your app, prepare brand approved program announcements and develop a few key assets for affiliates to use.
  • Months two through seven is where we’ll focus heavily on affiliate recruitment and activation through high quality outreach initiatives. We’ll also communicate with affiliates via a monthly newsletter and 1:1 emails to keep them nurtured and informed.
  • Our final months will be spent systemizing and streamlining the program so we can successfully transition the day-to-day program management to an in-house team member who’s excited to take over the reigns and focus on long-term growth.

Does this package include technical setup of my affiliate program?
Yes, but your internal website owner or developer will need to place the network tracking pixel on your site or in your app before we can go live.

Are there any additional costs I need to know about before proceeding?
No, the cost to launch on ShareASale’s pro network is included in the price of your engagement. That said, if a paid opportunity comes up that’s worth exploring, I’ll run it by you in case you want to give it a whirl.

Sound like a plan? Great! To ensure your company is the right fit for this service, all you need to do is apply. There’s no risk involved and no money is due today.

I’ll personally review your application. My team or I will answer any additional questions you may have. From there, we’ll get your launch on the books and embark on this exciting journey together.
